What to wear to Wimbledon 2026

Here’s our guide to serving looks during this year’s tennis tournament

Spectator standards

Although there is no official dress code for Wimbledon spectators, dressing smart is highly encouraged, and simply, more fun! Clothing with ‘ambush marketing’ or political slogans is strictly prohibited to ensure the focus remains on tennis. Think classy and comfortable with lightweight fabrics and chic accessories.

Fashionable Fabrics

As always, linen is a very popular choice for Wimbledon outfitting. Linen blazers, jumpsuits and skirts are not only incredibly breathable but also look stylish and polished. Cotton is another staple perfect for the season. Not only is it breathable, but comfortable and durable for a long day of tennis. Satin can also be a great choice for cooler days.

Chic Colours

Although the Wimbledon players have to wear all-white, that doesn’t mean you have to! Keeping up with this season’s trending colours is crucial to understanding Wimbledon fashion. Among the top colours to look out for are off-white (thanks to Pantone’s colour of the year), bright pinks and purples, and strong reds. Cloud Dancer has taken the world by storm because of its soft and creamy colour, making it a perfect complement to any outfit. A staple, navy will always be timeless, smart and considered summer’s black. Spectators are also increasingly leaning towards ‘Tennis Brights’: bright, colour-blocked dresses to stand out against the green courts, rather than the muted tones of years past.

Perfect Patterns

For a summer sporting event like Wimbledon, subtle patterns are your best friend. Dialling in on nautical stripes and tasteful polka dots can make your outfit chic yet playful. Florals can also be a great way to add personal and feminine flair. This year is also all about the strawberries, with berry patterns popping up to add a touch of whimsy.

Superb Shoes

The right shoes can bring your whole outfit together and determine how comfortable your outfit really is. Ballet flats are the perfect pillow for walking around the grounds while looking chic and graceful. Slingback heels add a little height without hindering comfort.

Amiable Accessories

Arguably the most important part of any outfit is the accessories you pick. Wimbledon isn’t for the flashy and flamboyant, but rather the chic and understated. A simple straw hat can be a great accessory to style while also protecting you from the sun, so long as it won’t obstruct other people’s view!
