Unwrap the Magic of Christmas in Wimbledon

The town centre is packed with festive fun this year, from ice skating and markets to magical Christmas shows, restaurants decked out for the season and community fun. The high street will be aglow with magic lights, with the Christmas tree switch on taking place on 19 November. Winterfest (28-29 November) brings seasonal cheer across Wimbledon Quarter and The Piazza with a host of special events and community performances.

Family Festive Fun

You can pack your calendar with ice skating dates for friends and family at Wimbledon Quarter (look out for special themed nights), book tickets for a film at the Odeon or Curzon – Odeon’s new screens will be perfect for the forthcoming blockbusters Avengers and Dune 3 – and try your hand at the new multi-sport games launching in Caddi Club.

If you’re looking for something for the little ones, there will be a Santa’s Workshop in Elys and a Santa’s Grotto in Wimbledon Quarter. Our theatres will offer not one, but two magical Peter Pan performances – pantomime at New Wimbledon Theatre and a musical at Polka Theatre with a beatboxing/rapping twist!

Community Christmas

Wimbledon is filled with community spirit during the festive season – look out for special events such as The Big Toy Swap in Wimbledon Library with St Mark’s Church. The Alexandra pub always offers a warm welcome, particularly with its annual Christmas lunch for those who would otherwise face Christmas alone.

Shop the Season

There’s everything you need to tick off your Christmas shopping list. The Elys Shopping Party is sure to give you some inspiration, and this year they’re celebrating their 150th anniversary so it’s going to be a special one! There’s a huge range of shops perfect for gifts including Rituals, Office Shoes, plus favourites Aubergine Art, Neptune, Hotel Chocolat and The Body Shop, as well as the JellyCat shop on the ground floor in Elys. Sostrene Green has been transformed into a magical Christmas wonderland, and is the perfect place to pick up gifts.

Christmas on the Piazza

Love Wimbledon’s Christmas Market on The Piazza offers a festive way to shop from 27 November to 20 December, every week from Friday to Sunday. New for 2026 is Festive Beats & Makes – there will be a live DJ and Christmas workshops every Friday – book online in advance.

Eat, Drink, Celebrate

After your shopping, there’s a wealth of places to drink and dine including the newly refurbished Hand & Racquet, The Old Frizzle, and Tampopo. There are many independent restaurants such as Mediterranean-inspired Aimer, Al Forno, Oy Bar, and Bombay Delight.
