Pumping music and a packed auditorium set an exciting vibe at the Rose Theatre for the popular touring play The Boy at the Back of the Class.
This brilliant high energy play has a storyline that rips along at pace, keeping adults and children completely enthralled. Superbly acted with characters you believe and fall in love with. It’s a real heart grabber, packed full of emotions, funny and sad, often at the same time.
The Boy at the Back of the Class tackles the tricky topics of immigration, death and bullying with warmth, kindness and compassion. Exploring a range of views that will help give children a better understanding of the headlines and pictures they might see in the news, and the difficulties other children at school may experiencing.

Despite these thorny issues being at the centre of the story, the audience was taken on a heart-warming adventure that didn’t miss a beat and resulted in a well-deserved standing ovation.
‘Brilliant’ said the nine year in the seat next to me who was gripped all the way through and danced in the aisles at the end. ‘Best play EVER!’
The Boy at the Back of the Class is an absolute winner to take the kids to and learn that different or weird can also be great.
