Folk singer-songwriter Noah Kahan kicks off weekend two of BST Hyde Park in front of a sold-out 65,000 crowd – a stark contrast to the 77 people that turned up to his first London show in 2017.

The Vermont artist had a huge breakout across the US and Europe following his hugely successful album, with its chart-topping title track hitting over 1.5b streams on Spotify alone.

Noah Kahan opened his set in style with ‘All My Love’, ‘New Perspective’ and ‘False Confidence.’ The energy in the crowd was electric and instantly ready for the special evening ahead of them.

Whilst performing ‘Everywhere, Everything,’ Kahan brought out Gracie Abrams, who performed on the bill earlier in the evening, to perform her verse.

“I’m going to play some songs and you’ll leave unhappy.” This was a tongue-in-cheek comment from Kahan but despite most of his music being a deeply personal meditation on life, love and his upbringing in New England, he brings such a unique energy and joy to his performances that you can’t help but leave feeling 10-feet tall!

Kahan’s continued growing reputation as a must-see performer is a big reason for his rapid ascent in music, despite not having released new music since February 2024.

Tonight’s show was a testament to that as he performed his biggest show to date to over 65,000. He has a reputation as a great showman and incredible vocalist live, who people are willing to pay their hard-earned money to see.

Midway through the set, Noah Kahan ran to a secondary stage closer to the fans. He compared this to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, but instead it was the ‘Depression Era tour.’ It was a great moment for the fans as he performed acoustic versions of ‘Pain Is Cold Water,’ ‘Maine, ’ and ‘Strawberry Wine.’

Before a thrilling conclusion to the show, Kahan performed a heartfelt duet of ‘Call Your Mom’ with Gigi Perez as Kahan’s Mom watched emotionally from the crowd.

Noah Kahan returned for the encore wearing a Chelsea kit, where he was booed by a large section of the crowd. In response, he cupped his ears and did the ‘cold Palmer’ celebration before performing ‘Forever.’

Before the concert, Kahan promised fans a “special surprise”, and man, did he deliver! During ‘Northern Attitude,’ the screens faded to black and cheers from the front of the crowd could be heard. I expected it to be Hozier, who features on the duet. However, when the lights came up, Lewis Capaldi was revealed. The crowd went wild with Capaldi performing a powerful version of the song. It’s good to see him back onstage!

The set ended with a party atmosphere fitting for the fourth of July as during his huge hit ‘Stick Season’, fireworks lit up the London sky.
