We’re excited to introduce Taryn Robertson, Regional Director for London SME Business Banking, HSBC UK.

Taryn has been an entrepreneur, founded and run her own business, and champions financial literacy, with a particular passion for supporting entrepreneurs not only to grow their businesses, but to thrive.

Born and raised in South Africa, Taryn has over 20 years of experience in financial services and has been with HSBC for 12 of those years – most recently as the Head of Business Banking in Malaysia before joining the London Region SME Business Banking team!

On a personal level, she juggles life with her husband and two children and is a big fan of LEGO and weightlifting.

Tell us more about the Women’s Business Growth Initiative!

The Women’s Business Growth Initiative launched in 2024, building a community of like-minded women, and providing opportunities for more networking and training opportunities.

We unlock opportunity for you as women leading in business through:

1. Resources for growth
   Specialist pitch workshops and events, and masterclasses. We host monthly masterclasses and webinars designed to provide insights and inspiration to help women’s businesses thrive.
2. Our international network
   HSBC’s on-the-ground presence in over 50 markets, covering major trade corridors, means we can provide valuable support when you expand internationally.
3. A dedicated initiative
   Personalised funding support* for women business owners with a Business Specialist up to £100K or a Relationship Manager over £100K (lending subject to status).
4. A like-minded community
   We welcome you to become a core member of a collective peer group with access to information, inspiration and support. Access to our global network of connections, including collaborators and business partners, can help you further your growth ambitions.So far, we have over 1.6K members and have hosted events across the UK with customers, prospects and partners!Recent masterclass topics have included (but aren’t limited to) how to support you and your team’s wellbeing, how to elevate your brand and expand internationally. The Women’s Business Growth Initiative is part of HSBC UK’s Small Business Growth Programme, which is a free, open-to-all programme designed to support small businesses to grow and build resilience.
