Best business hotels in Kyiv in 2026

The Foreign Office advises against all travel to Kyiv. It says your travel insurance could be invalidated if you go, and that the British Embassy cannot help you in person. Read the advice in full before anything else.

People travel for work all the same. Journalists and staff of international organisations keep coming, and the city’s hotels have adapted to them. For those who have to go, the choice of hotel is a safety decision first and a comfort decision second.

Why the shelter decides the booking

Russian drones and missiles reach Kyiv on a regular basis. Alerts come at any hour and can run for a long time. The longest so far lasted 10 hours and 31 minutes, overnight on 28 and 29 November 2025. On a night like that you want a shelter inside your hotel, or one you can walk to in a couple of minutes.

So ask before you book. Find out where the shelter is and whether it stays open all night. Ask what is down there, because Wi-Fi and a power socket turn a lost night into a working one. Ask whether the hotel has a generator, since strikes on the grid cause power cuts that get worse in cold weather.

If the hotel has no shelter of its own, check how far the nearest underground metro station is. Those stations double as shelters. When neither is close, the local rule is to put two solid walls between you and the street and keep away from windows.

Holiday Inn Kyiv

This four-star hotel stands on Velyka Vasylkivska Street, near Olimpiiska metro station, and has 208 rooms. Some of its event spaces sit inside the shelter itself, so a meeting can carry on through an alert. The hotel says a backup generator keeps it running during outages. Room service and the gym run around the clock.

CITYHOTEL

CITYHOTEL is a 124-room four-star on Bohdana Khmelnytskoho Street, close to Universytet metro station. Its shelter has Wi-Fi, coffee and drinking water, and the building has backup power and blast-resistant film on the windows. Meeting rooms take 10 to 80 people, and a private dining room seats 15. Matisse, the restaurant on the 15th floor, works well for a client lunch. Visit Kyiv lists rates from €80 to €186 a night.

Hilton Kyiv

The Hilton faces the Fomin Botanical Garden on Taras Shevchenko Boulevard, 1.2 km from the central railway station. It is the pick for events, with 13 conference rooms across more than 800 square metres, the largest of which holds 400 people. Breakfast comes with the room. Visit Kyiv puts starting rates at about €250 to €300 a night.

InterContinental Kyiv

The InterContinental has 272 rooms on Velyka Zhytomyrska Street, a short walk from St Sophia’s Cathedral and St Michael’s Monastery. It offers full conference facilities and two restaurants. The 11th-floor bar, b-hush, has a terrace over St Sophia Square. Choose it for the address and for the meetings you would like to hold over dinner.

Ibis Kyiv Railway Station

Ukraine’s airspace is closed, so visitors arrive overland, most of them by train. This three-star Ibis is a two-minute walk from the platforms and has a shelter on site. It offers conference rooms, a 24-hour bar and rates around €45 a night. Curfew runs from 1am to 5am, so a hotel beside the station takes the worry out of an early departure.

BonApart Hotel & Apartments

For a posting of several weeks, BonApart in the Pechersk district has rooms and apartments with equipped kitchens. Cooking for yourself matters more than it sounds, because most restaurants close by 10 or 11pm.

After the meetings

Kyiv changed its alert system on 6 September 2026. Yellow now means a drone threat, and red means a mass drone attack, a missile threat or both. Install the Air Alert and Kyiv Digital apps before you travel. The Foreign Office also warns that conferences attended by Ukrainian government or military figures are more likely to be targeted, so ask organisers about the shelter at their venue too.
