Review: Flight Club Victoria’s secret roof terrace
Take a break from London’s hustle and bustle in Flight Club’s secret oasis

High above the crowded streets of Victoria sits Flight Club’s secret roof terrace, full of magic, wonder and charm. The flowers are blooming, the vibe is fun and the drinks are flowing.
We arrived at Flight Club Victoria to find it packed with large groups chatting, drinking, eating and playing darts (hence the pun in the name of the venue).The entire place is carnival themed, with playful murals and a bar that looks like a carousel. We checked in at a desk stocked with fake fairground prizes and were escorted out onto the terrace.

Stepping onto the terrace was like entering a different world. With huge flower arches, hidden bungalows and a gazebo, the space transported us somewhere beautifully secret. The entire terrace felt very Alice in Wonderland-esque with the blooming flowers and garden tea party aesthetic. It was slightly jarring to see people in their corporate work outfits drinking and socialising in this oasis, serving as a reminder that we were still in the heart of Victoria.
Flight Club revamped the terrace just in time for the summer months with the idea for it to be a secret garden escape. The bar also developed a new cocktail menu for the terrace, called Flight Club in Bloom. Among the fresh and fruity drinks listed on the menu is “Love Wins,” a combination of gin, pineapple, passion fruit, coconut and blue tea. Flight Club has made a pledge that for every purchase of this cocktail, the bar will donate £1 to MindOut, a charity providing mental health support to members of the LGBTQ+ community.
For my first drink, I chose the “Sweet Success” cocktail, consisting of vodka, coconut rum, passion fruit, pineapple, lemon and grenadine. The drink was deliciously sweet and tart at the same time, reminiscent of a pina colada but with a twist.
We also ordered the chicken tikka skewers and nachos with pulled chicken. The skewers had a bold heat and came with a coconut raita to cool it down. The nachos were the star of the show with fresh tomato salsa, spicy pickled jalapenos, and vibrant guacamole.
For round two, I made the bold decision to go for the “Watermelon Crush” cocktail slushie. This was presented to me in a carnival themed paper cup in which I imagine fairground-goers eating sno-cones out of. The slushie was sweet, creamy and a wonderful sip on a sweltering evening.
We also ordered the truffle fries with cheese sauce, because as I always say, anything can be dessert. The fries had the perfect amount of truffle flavour and mixed with the cheese sauce, nothing could be better. We politely killed the entire plate.
As the sun set over bustling Victoria and people started trickling out of the Secret Garden, we finished our drinks and told our oasis goodbye. We were already plotting our return to the terrace, if not just to have another one of the slushie cocktails.
