Theatre

Chicago

New Wimbledon Theatre, until 14 June

Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s, CHICAGO is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today’s tabloids.

Days out

Brooklands Relived

Brooklands Museum, 14-15 June

Brooklands Relived, a well-established fixture in the sporting calendar, will return for the weekend of 14th-15th June on the site of the world’s first purpose-built racetrack in Weybridge, Surrey. The weekend will see two days of the fi nest drivers pitting iconic pre-1960s vehicles against the clock, the judges, and the venue.

Food

Dastaan

Ewell

Daastan – translation: “a story” – opened in 2016 and quickly became one of the most beloved Indian restaurants in Surrey, and is now Michelin-recommended. Their varied and extensive menu includes a selection of chaat, from pani puri to fish and pink prawn amritsari, and a variety of delicious kebabs and tikkas served as starter portions. Highlights of the main menu include a wonderful chicken chettinad. There is also a separate vegan menu. A great one to book a spot at if you fancy dining out this weekend.
