Fitness Through Menopause
Fitness Through Menopause
Rosalia Trupiano on her new business Your Menopause Coach, providing personal training for women 35+
What makes your business unique?
Fitness during perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause is often overlooked or only addressed when symptoms become hard to ignore. I want to change that. I focus on supporting women from their mid thirties onwards, helping them build the strength, confidence, and habits they need before and throughout this transition. You don’t have to wait for menopause to hit hard before starting working on the things that will help you feel strong when it comes, and it’s never too late to start either.
What makes my approach as a Personal Trainer different is that I don’t just guide exercise. I explain why we do what we do, and how it supports the changes happening in a woman’s body. The programmes I build focus on the essentials, from strength and functional training to everything else that make a real difference as we move through our forties, fifties and beyond. This is the kind of support I wish I had earlier, and it’s what drives me to help other women feel prepared, informed, and confident through movement that truly supports each stage of life.
How would you describe your ethos?
The values that guide me are simple. I believe in supporting women approaching and going through the transitions of menopause and beyond, with respect, encouragement, and real connection. Everyone’s journey is different, and I want to help each person find their own expression of strength and fitness. I care about helping women reach what feels meaningful to them, and have a sense of achievement that reflects individual goals. Community matters to me, as does creating a space where women feel motivated and understood, free from pressure, comparison, or stereotypes.
Tell us about your journey to get where you are now.
I started out in sports journalism as a teenager, then moved into marketing at my husband’s video games development studio while raising our now fifteen-year-old twin girls. Sport and fitness have always been part of my life, but I never imagined myself as a coach. That changed after I earned my black belt in karate and began helping out at the dojo where I train. Year after year, the energy and sense of reward I got from those sessions gave me a clear signal that this might have been my calling, for a new chapter in a new phase of my life. So, early this year, at 45 years old, I took time off work, retrained as a Personal Trainer and found real purpose in coaching women through what can be a great chapter of their lives!
What were the challenges?
One of the biggest challenges was going back to studying in my forties. I found it hard to retain information, especially with the not-so-many-hours of sleep that come with perimenopause. My twin daughters were revising for their GCSEs at the same time, so the house often felt like one big shared study zone, full of flashcards, notes, and tired brains. It wasn’t always easy, but I learned to work with the rhythm I had, not against it and to keep showing up, even on the tired days.
One piece of advice?
Don’t wait until you are “ready”. If you are thinking about it, it is the right moment for you to start.
Proudest moment?
Saying yes to this project. It’s the bravest and most aligned decision I have made in a long time.
