Tell us about you. What did you do before launching Arturo in September 2024?
Chi: Before opening Arturo Grooming & Aesthetics, I worked in Jacks of London in Wimbledon for 11 years. I’d always had a passion for creating spaces where people feel and look confident, and I wanted to bring those values into a modern salon setting.
What inspired you to start this business, and how has that vision evolved over the past year?
I saw a gap locally for a space that combined high-quality grooming with skin and nail treatments, somewhere inclusive and approachable for both men and women. Over the past year, that vision has grown as we’ve listened to our clients. Their feedback has encouraged us to expand our treatments while keeping the same calming, Scandi-inspired environment at our core.
What has been your proudest moment in your first year of business?
Without a doubt, it’s seeing the trust our clients have placed in us. Building a loyal client base so quickly has been an incredible achievement, and the feedback we received that people feel comfortable, cared for, and confident when they visit is something we’re really proud of.
How has the support from your customers and community impacted your success?
The community has been the backbone of our journey. From the very first clients who walked through our doors to the ongoing recommendations and encouragement we’ve received. Their support has given us the confidence to keep going.
Which treatments have been most popular this year?
Our customised facials and nail treatments are becoming popular and spray tans have been a big hit, especially over the summer. And of course, our barbering and grooming services remain a cornerstone of the business.
What’s new or coming up in the next few months?
We’re celebrating our first anniversary with fun promotions, including a “Spin the Wheel” giveaway for clients, and we’ll be expanding our retail offering with more professional products to take home. Looking ahead, our focus is on enhancing our advanced treatment menu and continuing to make Arturo Grooming & Aesthetics a destination for both everyday grooming and long-term skin health.
What sets Arturo Grooming & Aesthetics apart from other salons?
We’ve created a space that blends modern grooming and advanced skincare in one setting. Our salon has a calming, Scandi-inspired design so clients feel comfortable the moment they walk in. What really sets us apart is the balance: you can come to us for a quick haircut or shave, but also for laser hair removal, advanced facials, microneedling and nail care. It’s about everyday grooming as much as long-term skin health.
Do you cater to both men and women?
Yes, that was really important to us. We wanted Arturo to be inclusive. Whether it’s nails or advanced facials, our treatments are designed for everyone. Many of our clients are couples or friends who come in together, and we love being a space where everyone feels welcome.
For someone visiting for the first time, what would you recommend they try?
For grooming, our haircuts. For skincare, a customised facial is perfect as we design it around your skin’s needs. It’s a chance to experience our results-driven approach whilst maintaining a relaxing experience.
Do you offer gift options?
Yes, we do. Our gift vouchers are really popular for birthdays, special occasions and ‘just because’. It’s a thoughtful way to give someone time to look after themselves, and it often introduces new clients to services they wouldn’t have tried otherwise.
What advice do you have for clients who want to improve their skin or grooming routine at home?
Consistency is key. By using good quality skincare, clients can continue their results at home between treatments. We’re always happy to recommend the right products to match their routine and budget.
