Last week, Fleetwood Mac icon Stevie Nicks postponed shows in Manchester and Glasgow due to a leg injury that required a surgical procedure.

Fans in London were concerned as her headlining set on the final weekend of BST Hyde Park 2024 was thrown into jeopardy.

Nevertheless, the legendary singer pulled through and gave the London crowd a night to remember.

Nicks opened the set in style with ‘Outside the Rain’ and smoothly transitioned into Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Dreams.’

There was a rapturous roar from the crowd, who proceeded to sing the whole song word for word with her. It is one of the most famous songs of all time and still feels timeless 47 years later.

There was an incredible energy in the crowd because Stevie Nicks is a bucket list concert for many people. She has been a Rock and Roll icon since the 1970s and continues to put on a memorable show for her fans all these years later.

She performed a combination of Fleetwood Mac tracks like ‘Rhiannon’ and ‘Gypsy’ alongside solo tracks and even covers of Tom Petty’s ‘Free Fallin’’ and Buffalo Springfield’s ‘For What It’s Worth.’

It was a setlist that reinforced Stevie Nicks’ incredible career but also the strong friendships with iconic performers over the years that she wanted to pay tribute to.

The main section of the show ended in incredible style with two extended performances, the first of which was ‘Gold Dust Woman.’ Nicks wore a special gold cape and danced along on stage, despite having surgery just days before she was still energetic and incredibly engaging.

The second was a thrilling version of her hit track ‘Edge of Seventeen’ – which had an epic four-minute guitar intro from Waddy Wachtel.

As the main section of the show drew to a close, Nicks thanked the crowd for being “awesome” and she repaid the supportive fans with an incredible moment in the encore that will stay with them forever.

There were rumours rife that Nicks would bring a certain special guest out during the encore, the anticipation was rising to see whether this would come true.

As Nicks performed her much-loved collaboration with the late Tom Petty, “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around ‘, Harry Styles appeared on the screen with an acoustic guitar.

The crowd went wild as one of the biggest artists in the world, who hasn’t made many public appearances this year, came out to perform with Stevie Nicks.

The set ended with an incredibly emotional tribute to the late Christine McVie as Styles and Nicks performed ‘Landslide.’ It was a beautiful rendition and you could hear a pin drop in the crowd, they were stunned into silence with this iconic moment that will go down in musical history.

At the end of the evening, Nicks said: “One thing my mum used to say to me when I was little, when I was hurt, was ‘Stevie when you’re hurt, you always run to the stage’. And that’s what I have been doing ever since Chris passed away, I’ve been running to the stage. And the only people who have helped me to get over all of this has been all of you.”
