All Points East returned to Victoria Park for an iconic lineup that had everyone lining up for tickets.

The event that piqued the most interest was Canadian DJ Kaytranada’s headlining day with a stellar lineup including Tems, Victoria Monet, Thundercat and Lancey Foux.

It was one of the most anticipated events of the summer and inevitably sold out, leaving the lucky 50,000 who got a ticket with a night to remember.

Before the headline act, the audience flocked to the West Stage to see the Afrobeats sensation Tems deliver a magical set. The Nigerian artist performed a mixture of tracks from her recent album ‘Born in the Wild’ and her hit tracks like ‘WAIT FOR U’ and ‘Essence’ which had the crowd vibing along to the soulful melodies.

The darkness had descended and it was time for Kaytranada to light up Victoria Park.

There was no wasting time, the Canadian DJ launched into hits like ‘At All’ and ‘Snap My Finger’ and the crowd was instantly dancing along to the beat.

There was an incredible atmosphere in the crowd as Kaytranada created magic on the decks and had everyone hooked for over an hour.

It is quite rare to see a DJ headline a major UK festival, without a huge catalog of mainstream chart hits like a Calvin Harris or Swedish House Mafia.

However, Kaytranada was supremely confident and owned the stage with the 50,000 audience in the palm of his hands.

One of the ways that Kaytranada was able to keep his audience transfixed, apart from the incredible music, was stunning visual effects.  Kaytranada was surrounded by six Kubrick-esque monolithic slabs that projected hypnotic visuals that mirrored his tracks.

During the mid-section of the set, there were back-to-back bangers from ‘Need It’ to Beyonce’s ‘CUFF IT’ and Chance the Rapper’s ‘All Night.’ Every time a song transitioned there was a cheer of appreciation from the audience who were loving every moment.

There was also a cameo from California rapper Channel Tres, who came onstage to perform their duet, ‘Drip Sweat.’

The DJ professed, “I love you London from the bottom of my heart.” After witnessing a memorable headline set full of good vibes and dancing, it is certain that the feeling is mutual within the London crowd.
