Wimbledon

Sustainable September is returning to Wimbledon Town Centre with a bang, with a staggering line-up of events and activities planned to raise awareness, bring the community together, and, most importantly, have fun! The focus is on reuse and repair with fashion shows, repair pop-ups, kilo-sale, community talks, markets and activities. If you’re a fashion fan, you can head to the Goldsmith Vintage Kilo Sale in Wimbledon Quarter on 7th and 8th If you fancy learning more about our impact on the world, visit the Sustainability Panel on 8th September in Wimbledon Quarter to hear talks on community, fashion and beauty. Wandsworth

With over 35 events taking place across the month in Wandsworth, there are so many ways for Wandsworth residents to get involved. If you need to clear out the closet, take part in Traid’s closet clear-out challenge. For the nature lovers, on 5th September there’s an evening bat walk taking place on Wandsworth Common, where you’ll have the chance to learn more about the nocturnal world of bats and the crucial part they play in our ecosystem. On the 7th September, head to Balham Library for a Climate Awareness Workshop, featuring upcycling and recycling item stalls, a painting exhibition, and seed-growing session. Kingston

There are a variety of free and green-minded events taking place across Kingston. Visit the Kingston Repair Café at Kingston Library on the 7th September to give your old items a new lease of life and learn some money saving skills in the process. You can visit various garden open days throughout the month to learn more about local produce, including Hogsmill Community Garden’s open day on the 7th and Tolworth Court Farm Fields Family Day on the 8th, where you can explore the gorgeous reserve and children can take part in fun arts and crafts activities.
